I want to tell you about a great way to earn some extra money without ever having to leave your home. It’s called affiliate marketing or affiliate advertising. All you need is your computer, some strong work ethics and a desire to succeed. Oh yeah, you will also need to be patient.

Affiliate marketing is simply the concept of driving potential customers to a vendor’s website. The more people you send there, the more potential customers they will have. Some vendors pay you by how many people you have sent to their website. Other vendors pay you a percentage of each sale those people have generated.

Many people give up on their affiliate marketing business after giving it a short trial period. As a rule they simply haven’t done the research required and haven’t put the time into it that affiliate marketing requires. This is a business, and like any other business you have to work at it to make money. The affiliate business is not a get rich quick scheme. It is a legitimate business that requires you to be willing to work hard. That being said, all the people that jump in and jump out leave an enormous market open for the rest of us who are willing to put the time in.

Your best bet is to find a niche you want to promote. You need to find a niche that thousands upon thousands of other people aren’t also trying to promote. For instance, I wouldn’t try to niche Digital Cameras. It is far too large an area and there are too many sites out there competing for hits. Try narrowing it down to something smaller. It’s helpful if your niche is something you enjoy or know something about. Most vendors on the web will have some website affiliate programs for you to look into.

Learn about SEO – search engine optimization. In order for potential customers to find the vendor’s site, they first need to find your site. Do the research your new business requires and plan to spend at least a couple of hours a day on your new internet affiliate program. If you are willing to put the time into this business then you will succeed.

If you’re involved with Internet marketing, you’ve undoubtedly learned that the biggest earners in the field sell their own products. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with earning as an affiliate, the potential associated with selling your own product is tremendous.

The challenge, of course, is creating a product to sell. Time is always at a premium and the idea of going through a lengthy, laborious process to create your product is uninviting. How can you get your own product quickly?

Ebooks are one of the most popular product options out there and much of that stems from the speed with which one can complete them. This is a particularly attractive option right now-video is hot and is in high-demand.

Obviously, you can find ways to create products quickly. One question remains, however. How do you decide what kind of product to create?

List Building – 5 Essentials to Grow Your List Faster in a Giveaway Event

It has been said many times that The Money Is In The List…

… but how do you build that list?

Relatively new marketers, many times find it difficult to build their list of subscribers as they watch one or two new signups every other day. Being a contributor in a giveaway event is a strategy that many of the top Internet Marketers use to cast a wide net and make themselves known to a huge pool of people.

This strategy is very easy to do and you will see results faster than you could with any other free list building method out there. Being a contributor in a giveaway event gets your free product in front of thousands of targeted people because other contributors, many of whom have thousands on their list already, are sending invitations. This way you can ride on their coattails.

Here are the five essential things you need in order to be a giveaway event contributor:

  1. First you need events to join. A Google search for giveaway events is a good place to start. Once you participate in one, you will get notices of others.
  2. You need a gift in the form of a downloadable product. If you do not already have a freebie for visitors to your website, you need one anyway. PLR (private label rights) products are great for this purpose.
  3. You need to create a simple squeeze page with an opt-in form. When a visitor to the event decides to download your product, they will be taken to this squeeze page which contains the compelling reasons why they should opt in to your list to obtain the free report.
  4. If you are new to creating lists, you will need an autoresponder such as Aweber to collect the names and communicate with the folks on your list while being in compliance with laws governing email spam.
  5. Finally you need a download or thank you page with a link to download your gift which should be a PDF file, a video or even a podcast.

There is a little bit of effort to get this all set up initially, but the good news is that you do the work once, and then you can rinse and repeat for other events.

Now, although these events are free, you will be presented with an opportunity to pay for an upgraded position plus the opportunity to submit a paid special offer as well as text or banner ads. You may want to get your feet wet as a free participant, but upgrading can improve your conversions.

The Benefits of Creating Your Own Product

Today, there are many different ways to make money on the internet. From selling on E bay, to being an affiliate marketer for many different products, to buying and selling stocks and many other ways in between! In this article, I am going to show you one of the best ways to generate a good income.

Many people think becoming an affiliate marketer is the best way to make money online. Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money quickly, but there is a downside to this also. Below are a few questions to think about before you decide to be an affiliate exclusively:

1. What if you can’t find a good product to promote? Then your income doesn’t get very large. Or, if too many people are promoting the product, you might not be able to make as much money as you would like or maybe none at all.

2. What if the merchant stops selling the product for any reason? This does happen. You could be promoting a product which accounts for over half of your income and the merchant just quits. Then you have to start all over again and find another product to promote. You then need to rebuild your customer base in order to make up your lost income.

3. What if people get tired of hearing about the product? People might get tired of the affiliate’s promotion efforts. This can be a problem not only with people getting tired of the affiliate’s promotion efforts, but can also be an over saturation problem. This can cause a lot of money to be lost for the affiliate marketer. A lot of affiliates find not only are they promoting one product but every other affiliate marketer and their brother is promoting the same thing!

These are just a few reasons why you would want to create your own product instead of or along with promoting someone else’s.

Another obvious reason to create your own product is you have complete control of how you want to promote and sell it. You can decide if you want to have an affiliate program or not. You can allow your affiliates to promote the product any way they see fit, or put restrictions on some marketing methods like email marketing in order to protect yourself and reputation.

Some merchants do that in order to keep themselves from getting in trouble with spamming. Keep in mind you are also building your own business based upon your brand.

Branding yourself and your business is important. People will recognize you when they see any product you are promoting. As you become known for creating quality products, people will want to buy, and affiliates will want to promote you because they know you create quality. It’s much smarter to focus on growing your own business and brand with a product you create.

Another benefit is you have complete control over the price of your product. Some people don’t price a product properly and then it doesn’t sell. If you are an affiliate marketer promoting someone else’s product, you wouldn’t make any money on the product if your customers thought the price wasn’t worth it. But since you aren’t the merchant, you don’t have any control over the price. You may also find you are getting a lot of charge-backs, which is another way to lose money very quickly.

If you are a product creator, you may end up having a whole army of marketers selling for you. This is called leverage, and is an excellent way to make lots of money. You as the merchant are now on the other side of the affiliate marketing coin. Yes, you have to pay a commission but with multiple affiliates selling for you, your income can just skyrocket!

I’m sure you can see these are good reasons to create your own product, rather than selling someone else’s, or in addition to being an affiliate marketer. It is always better to be in control of your product and sales than to be at the mercy of someone else and not be completely sure if you will be able to generate an income.
