Product Creation and how to Create an Information Product

Over the past few days I've posted two "create information product" articles, links to them are below:

- Why Sell Information Products Online

- Pick Your Information Product

In this article I discuss Product Creation and Branding.  Enjoy!

Product Creation and Branding

Once you have a general idea of what subject you want to write about in your information products, you should start thinking about branding yourself and your product line.

Creating a brand identity is a way to build customer loyalty and to ensure that when customers are looking for a solution, they think of you first.  Think of someone like Cesar Milano, and you automatically think “The Dog Whisperer”.

When you think of home decorating, what name pops into your head?  Chances are pretty good that it’s Martha Stewart.  Think of cooking, and you’ve got a lot of different options…Emeril La-gasse…Rachael Ray…and yet even there, people have found ways to distinguish themselves.  Extreme eating, adventures in dining – An-thony Bourdain! Southern cooking – Paula Deen!

If you’re from the UK you might think of Jamie Oliver when you think about School Dinners or Barbara Woodhouse when you think of dog training. If you think about money saving in the UK you think about Martin Lewis. When you arrive at his website the first thing you see is a picture of him. That tells you immediately you’ve come to the right place. Branding!

This branding allows them to build on their success.

Once you are known for producing an excellent product, people will come back to see what else you’ve got available, and when you cre-ate a list of satisfied customers and notify them that you’ve got some-thing new, if you have established a brand for yourself, they are much more likely to want to purchase it. You can, of course, choose to design a single product or a series of unrelated products, but you’re missing a great opportunity to build up buzz and repeatedly sell to the same customers when you do that.

To create a brand identity it helps to have a consistent visual theme for your web endeavors – a similar design and color scheme for your website, your ebooks, your short reports, etc.

If you don’t have any design skills, no problem. You can go some-where like elance.com, guru.com, rentacoder.com, or any other free-lance website, and find a graphics designer to create a logo and website header for you that will represent your business.

You don’t have to get any fancier than that. People aren’t looking for fancy website design when they land at your website. They want to know that they’ve arrived at the right place – and will be instantly re-assured when they see your familiar looking banner.

Then, they want the information that they came here to find – how to save money with coupons while shopping at grocery stores, how to litter train their cat, how to flatten their abs, etc.

And they want the site to be easy to navigate – they don’t want to have to hunt around to find what they are looking for.  So all you need to help establish your brand identity is a custom designed banner and logo that visually tells the customer at a glance what you and your products are all about. You can adapt that logo and banner and use some version of it for all of your products.

Let’s take the coupon example, for instance.

You decide that you want to be the coupon queen. An obvious thing to do would be to get a crown logo designed; perhaps a crown sitting on top of a pile of coupons. From then one when anyone sees that logo and the phrase “The Coupon Queen” they know it’s one of your products.  You would want to include your brand name in your product title if possible. “The Coupon Queen’s tips for getting groceries FOR FREE!” or “The Coupon Queen’s 50 delicious low cost recipes!”

Or, to use a more masculine example, say you are an expert fisher-man and hunter and you want to create a series of information products that will teach people to fish and hunt.

You could create a brand identity like “The Good Ole Boy’s guide to Bass Fishing.” This could spin off a whole series of ebooks, instructional videos, product endorsements and so on.

The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

Some of it sounds cliché, and perhaps even tacky. But it works beyond your wildest dreams!

"Stop Wasting Your Time with ALL the Distractions and Start Using a Real Business Model That Works"

Are you frustrated with your financial results online?

Are you tempted into purchasing every new product that promises to be your solution to online profitability and the lifestyle that you so desperately seek?

I know you may think that this is another sales letter selling a solution that promises to make you rich.  Truth be told, you don’t need another program, what you need is the model that has been tested for years with success every time. Your business needs to be based on something worthwhile, meaning you need to offer some level of value in exchange for money. So before you buy a traffic solution, or an automation tool to help drive WHATEVER;  you need to make sure your Sales/Marketing Funnel is properly in place and that you have a product that your target market wants.

I did not develop this model but I use it everyday with my business online and off.

3-Step Formula For Online Success

You Need To Build a List, Sell Your Own Products and Use Affiliate Offers to Supplement Your Income!

It's that simple…

Step One: Build Your Own Prospect List

This is the beginning of your sales funnel and must not be overlooked.  I’ve overlooked it for a long time and ended up spending money to get traffic for nothing.  Spend time on this area!  I’ve done a couple of things to help you get up and running quickly….

  • Posted Articles that explain the entire process – You can find these under the category, “List Building”.
  • Resources and products.   There are a handful of products and solutions that I personally use that has helped my business.  I recommend you check these out.  I do get compensated for recommended these resources, however, they will not increase your price and I do not recommend anything that I have not paid for myself and that I am not completely satisfied with.  Please check my Affiliate disclosure form.

Step Two:  Own or Create Your Own Products

The benefits of creating or owning your product is numerous.  First and foremost you control the pricing and you are paid immediately.

Any promotion you do is a direct ROI for you and your business.  The big downside when you are starting out is having the knowledge and time to create your own products.  Solutions are abundant that should reduce or remove any roadblocks you are faced with.

Step Three:  Using Affiliate Offers To Supplement Your Income

As I mentioned in step one, your sales funnel should always start with List Building.  By doing so you are creating the ability to generate cash o demand.  However, it is very important that you treat your subscribers well.  You need to provide valuable content.  If you only send them Affiliate Offers then over time you find that your list will shrink.  Goal is to build a list that grows over time, provides great content, then occasionally send them an affiliate offer.  We have several resources that you'll find to help you learn the most effective ways in doing this.

In summary your business needs to be based on something worthwhile, meaning you need to offer some level of value in exchange for money. So before you buy a traffic solution, or an automation tool to help drive WHATEVER, you need to make sure your Sales/Marketing Funnel is properly in place and that you have a product that your target market wants.

The only way that has worked for me in Making Substantial Money Online is to build a business on products that I have control over. Making money online is similar to owning a offline store. You need customers (your list) and products that they want. Doing it online requires the same thought process.

Here's your opportunity:

SixFigureProducts.com is setup to offer you information that you can quickly implement and see financial results. We do this in the form of our blog. Secondly, and more importantly we offer you outstanding products that you can brand as your own and sell to your customers. All you have to do is brand them (and we can help with that.) Each month we add new products.

The Benefits of Creating Your Own Product

Today, there are many different ways to make money on the internet. From selling on E bay, to being an affiliate marketer for many different products, to buying and selling stocks and many other ways in between! In this article, I am going to show you one of the best ways to generate a good income.

Many people think becoming an affiliate marketer is the best way to make money online. Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money quickly, but there is a downside to this also. Below are a few questions to think about before you decide to be an affiliate exclusively:

1. What if you can’t find a good product to promote? Then your income doesn’t get very large. Or, if too many people are promoting the product, you might not be able to make as much money as you would like or maybe none at all.

2. What if the merchant stops selling the product for any reason? This does happen. You could be promoting a product which accounts for over half of your income and the merchant just quits. Then you have to start all over again and find another product to promote. You then need to rebuild your customer base in order to make up your lost income.

3. What if people get tired of hearing about the product? People might get tired of the affiliate’s promotion efforts. This can be a problem not only with people getting tired of the affiliate’s promotion efforts, but can also be an over saturation problem. This can cause a lot of money to be lost for the affiliate marketer. A lot of affiliates find not only are they promoting one product but every other affiliate marketer and their brother is promoting the same thing!

These are just a few reasons why you would want to create your own product instead of or along with promoting someone else’s.

Another obvious reason to create your own product is you have complete control of how you want to promote and sell it. You can decide if you want to have an affiliate program or not. You can allow your affiliates to promote the product any way they see fit, or put restrictions on some marketing methods like email marketing in order to protect yourself and reputation.

Some merchants do that in order to keep themselves from getting in trouble with spamming. Keep in mind you are also building your own business based upon your brand.

Branding yourself and your business is important. People will recognize you when they see any product you are promoting. As you become known for creating quality products, people will want to buy, and affiliates will want to promote you because they know you create quality. It’s much smarter to focus on growing your own business and brand with a product you create.

Another benefit is you have complete control over the price of your product. Some people don’t price a product properly and then it doesn’t sell. If you are an affiliate marketer promoting someone else’s product, you wouldn’t make any money on the product if your customers thought the price wasn’t worth it. But since you aren’t the merchant, you don’t have any control over the price. You may also find you are getting a lot of charge-backs, which is another way to lose money very quickly.

If you are a product creator, you may end up having a whole army of marketers selling for you. This is called leverage, and is an excellent way to make lots of money. You as the merchant are now on the other side of the affiliate marketing coin. Yes, you have to pay a commission but with multiple affiliates selling for you, your income can just skyrocket!

I’m sure you can see these are good reasons to create your own product, rather than selling someone else’s, or in addition to being an affiliate marketer. It is always better to be in control of your product and sales than to be at the mercy of someone else and not be completely sure if you will be able to generate an income.
